Read To Every Kid -Every Day 2013-14
The closing ceremony for the Read to Every Kid Project was held at the new Elizabethtown Kitley library on Saturday January 25. Librarian Ruth Blanchard welcomed the crowd of over 100. Margaret Williams chair of the Read to Every Kid Every Day Work Group introduced the Read to Every Kid Every Day Members and spoke to the collaborative nature of the project that involves libraries, community agencies and schools across Leeds and Grenville.
Chair Margaret Williams was thrilled with the success of both this year’s closing of a most successful reading initiative. “There was a buzz of excitement throughout the entire morning. The puppet show and the music were wonderful and tied in with our reading theme and this year’s book selections. We figure there were more than 50 kids and at least that many adults (parents, grandparents, etc). Ruth Blanchard, the CEO, couldn’t stop smiling and was delighted to act as hostess in her beautiful new Elizabethtown/Kitley Public Library space.
Read to Every Kid Coordinator Margaret Fancy introduced the winning book, “Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons”.
