Awareness and Profile Of Everykid

Summary of Planning to Date: November 5, 2014

Objective:

Raise general awareness of EKIOC in the community as a place to make things happen through collective connections.

Measures of Success:

  • Every member organization has EKIOC link on their website
  • New partnerships developed with non-traditional partner organizations
  • All member staff aware of EKIOC and that they are considered to be an organizational as well as individual member member
  • All staff aware of expectation of their leaders that they be involved in EKIOC at a level guided and supported by their leaders
  • Increase in alignment and commitment of resource support by members and from beyond membership
  • Increase in advocacy for kids
  • All staff able to access information and knowledge that enhances their opportunity and effectiveness in working collaboratively for kids and their families
  • Increase in celebration to mark successful collaborative actions that make the future better for our kids and their families
  • Increase in opportunities and processes for staff and community members to engage with others in improving outcomes for our kids

Outcomes:  The Whys Awareness and Profile of Everykid Matters.

  • Invitation to become engaged in action
    • EKIOC is seen as the go-to group for planning new initiatives.
    • EKIOC is seen as the vehicle for those who are or wish to be engaged in working together to improve the future for our children
  • Resources are better aligned
    • Reduced competition for one-time funding/fundraising
    • A clearly articulated shared set of principles and ways of working together to achieve EKIOC’s mission and goals that clarify common purpose and commitment of all members to potential benefactors and to those who provide resources
    • Increase in resources focused on achieving identified action to improve an outcome for kids
  • Information is available to all

    • Sharing and transfer, with all staff work for kids, of information and knowledge pertinent to the improvement of outcomes for kids a vital component of EKIOC
    • Public provided with a clearly articulated shared set of principles and ways of working together to achieve EKIOC’s mission and goals that clarify a common purpose and commitment of all members
  • The shared principles for advocacy are clear

    • EKIOC actively advocating for all kids based on a clearly articulated set of principles agreed to by all members.

Activities:

  • Development of strategy for strengthening of EKIOC awareness levels. (Target: staff and member leaders, identified non member individuals and groups who are in position to move action forward on identified issues)
  • Review branding to identify to staff and targeted non-member groups and individuals that EKIOC is the child and youth planning table and table to come to to offer their support
  • Consider membership review as result of definition of brand.
  • Pursue outreach to non- traditional partners (e.g. food security, churches)
  • Provide resources and focus for members to promote EKIOC brand to targeted EKIOC internal and external individuals and groups
  • Implement awareness-building strategy.
