Asset Builders 2023
The Every Kid in our Communities (EKIOC) Coalition hosted their seventh “Recognition of Asset Builders” event on Sunday June 4, 2023 at the YMCA of Eastern Ontario. This event was a chance to celebrate and honour organizations, businesses, and people who make a difference in the lives of children and youth- in other words they build assets!
Through a public nomination process, the following thirty-three “asset builders” were identified, and recognized at the celebration: Amira Al Mezel, Ashley Perkins, Brenda Haystead, Bryan Edgeley, Carole Evely, Catherine Carry, Christina Campbell, Dane Fellows, Darcy P’os, Dave MacGregor, Erika Trewartha, Family & Children’s Service of Lanark, Leeds & Grenville, Jennifer McMaster, Karrie Kirton, Keith McCrae, Kerri Tadeu, Lisa Alexander, Lyndsay Pilling, Maddy Henry, Magean Plue, Margaret Friedman, Mayur Vadher, Paula Perrault, Rich Tamblyn, Roxanne Harrington, Sam Sirois, Sarah McCue, Shane Geraghty, Sondra McDougall, Tawnya Boileau, Taylor Brown, Terri Nash, Willy Stevenson.
These thirty-three “asset builders” are helping to powerfully and positively shape the lives of young people. Karynn von Cramon, Coordinator of Every Kid says: “This was our first live event since 2019 and an opportunity to recognize the additional efforts assets builders have made during the pandemic. Their contributions to our community are humbling.”
