    • FOLLOW UP TO THIS MONTHS MEETING
      • 1. Date for next meeting — After the meeting I realized that I had rather arbitrarily suggested that we stick with our March 13 date without really allowing for discussion/decision.  So, back to the democratic process:  Please find attached a Doodle Poll which asks you to choose a preferred date to meet.  Please indicate also if you have flexibility for both dates.  We need to finalize our WTK plans, and  provide any follow up training required for WTK events. Any priority actions needing approval/support will be discussed as well.  Please complete the poll by Monday February 24 and I will send the finalized date by the 25th.

        2. CDSBEO WTK training — Each BSN  has been allocated one space for the training on March 4. Please let me know by Wednesday February 19,  if you or one of your staff has an interest in attending. In speaking with our co-chairs and with Gillian who is our lead for WTK, we felt that preference should be given to someone who has not previously participated in Board training. The participant will be asked to briefly explain the process for WTK in Leeds-Grenville to a small group of LG principals sitting at your table.   I will let you know when I hear from UCDSB about plans for March 5.

        3. Red Flags — I have attached the link to Red Flags.  Please review the document as it exists and send suggestions for changes, additions to Alexis. She is meeting with a small group to review the document, so would value input as soon as possible.
Alexis has also asked agencies to determine how many hard copies they would like of the document, keeping in mind that there will be an online version.

        4. WTK Resources — at Thursday’s meeting it was confirmed that our BSN resources will include:
        — Learning to Play/Playing to Learn booklet
        — NDDS Screening card —
        — Triple P tear off sheet and promotional material
        — information on OEYC programs
        — Sheet with information on resources for families
        Actions:
Gillian will contact Boards to determine expected number of Kindergarten registrations
Alexis will find out about availability of NDDS cards at Health Unit
Kathy Jodoin will assist Margaret F. in reviewing family resource sheets for accuracy
Margaret will send link to Learning Partnership Video on Welcome to Kindergarten
Margaret will send information about training session offered by UCDSB and CDSBEO.

        5. Link to Learning Partnership video on WTK — Please share with your staff who are attending WTK events.

        6. Early Literacy Kits — we approved the allocation of $1500 to develop Literacy Kits which will be used to support a pilot involving training of 2or3  librarians in a program to support infant literacy. Action: Literacy workgroup to pursue purchasing, development of kits and selection of pilot libraries.

        6.  Video from Open Society   Foundations — the attached video is one we were going to share at BSN, but the volume is not strong enough. It emphasizes the importance of family-centred practice and reinforces the work that we have been doing  around the philosophy “necessary for some, good for all”
