2021 Asset Builders

The Every Kid in our Communities (EveryKid) Coalition hosted their sixth annual “Recognition of Asset Builders” event on Wednesday June 16 through Zoom.  This event was a chance to celebrate and honour organizations, businesses, and people who make a difference in the lives of children and youth, in other words they build assets! 

Through a public nomination process, the following “asset builders” were identified, and recognized at the celebration:

  • Arnita Gillard Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO);
  • Christina Davis YMCA of Eastern Ontario Child Development Centre;
  • Danny Powers Brockville Soccer;
  • Dennis O’Connor, O’Connor Gallery Gananoque;
  • Doug Ptolemy Revelation Martial Arts and Fitness Brockville;
  • Dr. Alison Inglis Upper Canada District School Board;

These “asset builders” are powerfully and positively helping to shape the lives of young people Margaret Fancy, Coordinator of EveryKid says: “We are very fortunate to have so many community members who are doing their part to support our children and youth.”

At the close of the event, organizing committee member Michael Stanley challenged the 2021 Asset Builders to go out and recognize the gifts of others “to turn 30 Asset Builders to 300, 3000… in other words to build stronger communities.”

EveryKid members work together to create communities where children and youth feel like they belong, are connected, feel valued, and have positive, caring relationships with adults.
