  • CLUSTER 17 MEETING
    • March 20, 2012 Meeting Agenda: CDSBEO, SF
    • January
      • agenda jan 12
      • meeting notes
        • elements of the plan that we had agreed on…
          1.  Both Lanark and L&G have been given additional funding to take their pilots to further develop their pilots.
          2.  Donaleen will be funding additional VTRA training.
          3. Jane Torrance will take the lead and build on the work of the Lanark Pilot to create a pictoral depiction of the services available to children and youth using the triangle (reminiscent of the Algoma model but also based on the “triangles” used in both educaiton and community agencies).  Jane will solicit interest by opening up to the four regions (she will email the full email list from our Cluster) and get representation from each area, as well as a rep from each school board.
          4. The Checkered Flags website will be redone by the original folks who wrote the document.  New additions may be made but also,  a professional web designer will be contracted to create a website that incorporates all the latest in web design.   Kathy O’Brien will be approached to take the lead on bringing the team together (i.e. old Checkered Flags working group) with Keith McPhee and Allan Hogan.    Keith has secured the domain name which is terrific but the funding will be directed at contracting with a professional web designer.
          5. Donaleen will approach the VTRA STeering committee to ask them to take on a new role by expanding their membership and taking the lead in creating a suicide protocol.
          6.  Four regional “celebrations” of the SSLI work will be planned.   A planning committee will be formed to ensure the day has as an outcome, creating sustainability regarding Checkered Flags.  Each regional committee will be asked to come up with a meaningful use of one day in June in their respective regions.  School boards will use money to backfill teachers/staff who will be ongoing champions of  Checekred Flags and SSLI in their schools.
Reports expected at next meeting (March 20):
        • Jane will report back on her working group re: modified Algoma.
        • The reconstituted Checkered Flags working group will report on progress re updating Checkered Flags and the process for identifying the web designer.
        • Donaleen will report on new membership on VTRA Steering committee and progress re: suicide protocol.
        • Each region will be expected to report back on the proposed format/ design for the One Day Celebration.  Small planning group will be identified to take the lead on creating the One Day celebrations.  Donnaleen and Susan will bring June dates to the meeting.
